This is a lovely country, and a sweet camp. My day started with a 10-minute jog and I
discovered some sweet trails which I hope to explor more yet. Then was a 8:30 and I met all the staff
officially, and suffered through exorbitant amounts of ridicule. Today’s nick
name was “Postie”. Great.
The 4 poles I drove over and then pulled out today. |
My first task of the day was to fix my broken poles, and it
took me half the day. Turns out they were
concreted in and I needed to break through all that.
Then I went on to join Martin (another
volunteer) in destroying an old boiler room in a dorm that is being
renovated. It was a slow going and messy job, but we
finished the room by 5, so that felt good!
I also got to know Martin, a Czech who is a trained chef, snowboard
instructor, and is currently traveling for a year! Perhaps an inspiration to
me!
The room before. |
After a hard days work, half of it in the sun, I was
tired. I’m hoping that I’ll condition
quickly because right now a feel like a prissy office-boy, and I don’t like it.
I also hope my blisters from the day will heal quickly, for the same reasons.
Tomorrow: Beach day?
And who knows what else! See ya!
The room after. |
New Fact of the day:
Bluegrass is a popular Czech style of music.
