Friday was the first youth night at my church, and it was a great time. Admittedly, I did not always feel at ease due to the amount of people I did not know. But I joined a few in a basketball game for a bit, and got to talk to some more throughout the evening. The night was called “The Hunger” and it involves a bunch of singing, and some speaking, this time one the of leaders shared part of his testimony. The kids are a LOT of fun, and are very into singing, which is really great to see. It’s a beautiful thing to see young kids, grades 7-9 especially jumping around and lifting their hands, voices and hearts to God in worship! I'm very excited to get to know the youth more each Friday and form some great relationships. I will be dealing with a LOT of jr high boys, with lots of energy, so that should be fun!
I also enjoyed this time to get to know some of the other leaders as well. They seem like a great bunch of people onfire for God, with a heart for the youth!
Please continue to pray for boldness in me to go and talk to youth I don’t know, and that God would guide me to the right place at the right time, where I can be the greatest help.

Hey Steve. I took the plunge and can now publish comments. I have now become a "stalker" of your blog. It's good to read about your life. It is great to see how God has prepared you for this part of your life. It sounds like a great adventure and like you are being stretched.
Praying for you.
